Landon S. Raiford

Landon S. Raiford is a bankruptcy lawyer and has significant experience in a wide-range of bankruptcy and bankruptcy-related matters.

Mr. Raiford is a member of the firm’s Restructuring and Bankruptcy Practice.  He represents debtors, trustees, creditors, and committees in Chapter 7 and 11 cases in a variety of contexts, including litigation and mediation, out of court restructurings, and the purchase and sale of assets in bankruptcy.  Mr. Raiford’s practice also includes advising creditors in their dealings with financially troubled entities as well as assisting those entities in protecting their rights in the bankruptcy process.

Mr. Raiford also has extensive appellate experience, including the successful defense of a bankruptcy court’s order dismissing claims seeking over $150 million.  In addition, Mr. Raiford played a key role in the representation of a creditor in its successful appeal to the United States Supreme Court regarding the power of bankruptcy courts to enter final orders in the case of Wellness International Network Limited v. Sharif.

In addition to his private practice, Mr. Raiford is heavily involved inpro bono matters.  Mr. Raiford has successfully represented an indigent client in her successful appeal of a wire fraud conviction, which resulted in the vacating of the client’s sentence.  Mr. Raiford also has guided a non-profit LLC through the bankruptcy process, has successfully defended individual debtors against charges brought by creditors, and has participated in the firm’s Domestic Violence Clinic.
